Feingießen und Hochtemperaturwerkstoffe
Die Arbeitsgruppe verfügt über zwei Feingussanlagen unterschiedlicher Größen (Abgussgewichte max. 10 kg bzw. max. 0,6 kg), in denen innovative Kühltechnologien realisiert werden können. Basierend auf Erfahrungen mit der Flüssigmetallkühlung (LMC – Liquid Metal Cooling) wird für das Feingießen von Superlegierungen ein neues innovatives Kühlverfahren entwickelt, das auf einem Wirbelbett beruht (FCBC – Fluidized Carbon Bed Cooling). Im Vergleich zu kommerziellen Verfahren konnte gezeigt werden, dass FCBC über ein größeres Kühlpotential verfügt. In Kombination mit einem dynamischen Baffle kann ein höherer axialer Temperaturgradient erzielt werden. Ziele des Vorhabens sind ein tiefes Prozessverständis sowie Prozessoptimierung, die an einer Prototypengießanlage vollzogen wird. Eine weitere Motivation bildet das Potential zur Legierungsentwicklung, das sich durch die feinere Mikrostruktur der Gussteile ergibt. Die Materialentwicklung erfolgt dabei in enger Kooperation mit der Arbeitsgruppe Hochleistungslegierungen des Lehrstuhls.
